The Robotic Additive Manufacturing (RAM) system from EnvisionTEC and Viridis uses a disruptive technology and proprietary print head that is attached to an ABB robotic arm.  The system uses binder jetting technology to print sand molds, mold cores, and investment casting patterns for foundry applications. The binder material is precisely applied to the sand, which is pre-blended with a dry catalyst.  The reaction between the binder material and the sand mixture creates sand molds and cores for both ferrous and nonferrous foundry operations. The system includes easy-to-use Viriprint software to set up the builds using a standard .stl file for the input.
